Beverley was
formed at the end of 2001. Guitarist/Frontman: Jim Turner (previously from the
RetroJets).
Bassist/vocalist: James Maxted of Stuff and Kinagro (and
various others…)
Drummer: Chris Pilkington came together with only one thing
on their minds.
Beverley are a
lesson in hard rocking or as they would say ‘bottom rocking’.
No really… …They
make music to fuck hard to!
Frontman/Guitarist Jim
Turner the secret love child of Iggy Pop and Kurt Cobain, is everything
that is wrong with this once great country.
This skilled performer has no regard for possessions and
frequently destroys his equipment,
simply because (according to him)‘It’s the only way to
play!’
his main influences range from Pavement, the Dandy Warhols
and the New York Dolls.
Bassist/Vocalist James
Maxted is a machine for relentless bass and fuzz;
it was reputed that his bass rig was being tested as a
sonic weapon by the United States army.
James is a one-man dynamo and will be frequently found
leaping around the stage as if it was a trampoline.
His influences include Muse, Duran Duran and Radiohead.
Drummer Chris
Pilkington provides the solid foundation for the amazing sound Beverly
produce.
His unique style of ‘bottom rock’ sees almost all drum kits
in pieces and eardrums shattered!
This guy is a nutcase, hurling himself from lighting rigs
and speaker cabinets.
He is currently on the run from a high security home for
the clinically (and dangerously) insane.
He takes his main influences from the Cure, At the Drive In
and 16 wheeled 20 ton lorries.
The power trio of rather conspicuous rock monsters sound
like a cross between a high-speed car crash, a full on assault with 10ft
guitars and a wall of fuzz.
The mix between pure riff mania, retro rock and white noise
is a sublime experience of youth
and is sure to take your ears to pieces and put them back
together all wrong!
